Dewi Kharisma Michellia lahir di Denpasar pada 1991. Berprofesi sebagai penulis, penerjemah, dan editor, serta berpengalaman menulis novel, reportase, dan cerita pendek.
Dalam karier kepenulisannya, pada 2015, Dewi menerima penghargaan Taruna Sastra dari Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa. Pada 2017, ia menjalani residensi penulis di Orly dan Paris, Perancis yang diselenggarakan oleh Komite Buku Nasional. Pada 2018, ia terlibat di kolektif Ruang Perempuan dan Tulisan. Sejak 2018 pula, ia menjadi penerjemah jurnal akademik yang berfokus pada isu Asia Tenggara untuk kyotoreview.org. Pernah pula mendirikan penerbit indie berbasis di Yogyakarta, Penerbit OAK, dan mengampu peran sebagai redaktur pelaksana untuk berbagai terbitan online sejak 2013, di antaranya jakartabeat.net dan jurnalruang.com. Saat ini, ia aktif mengasuh situs web kritik sastra tengara.id yang dikelola oleh Dewan Kesenian Jakarta selaku redaktur pelaksana.
Karyanya Surat Panjang Tentang Jarak Kita yang Jutaan Tahun Cahaya terbit di Gramedia Pustaka Utama pada 2013 setelah menjadi pemenang unggulan di Sayembara Novel Dewan Kesenian Jakarta 2012, yang lantas meraih penghargaan daftar pendek Khatulistiwa Literary Award 2013. Pada 2016, novelnya A Copy of My Mind, sebuah novel adaptasi dari film, diterbitkan oleh Grasindo. Masih di Grasindo, pada 2017, terbit pula kumpulan cerpen perdananya Elegi. Tulisan lepasnya tersebar di berbagai media massa, di antaranyaย pindai.org, asymptotejournal.com, Koran Tempo, Jawa Pos, Media Indonesia, Bali Post, jakartabeat.net, indoprogress.com, dan Jurnal Perempuan.

In a span of her writing career, in 2015, she received the Taruna Sastra award from the Language Development and Fostering Agency. In 2017, she spent writing residency in Orly and Paris, France organized by the National Book Committee. In 2018, she joins Ruang Perempuan dan Tulisan (Women Writers Room and Writings). Also in the same year, she managed to be a translator for an academic journal on Southeast Asia kyotoreview.org. She has also founded an indie published based in Yogyakarta, Penerbit OAK, and has served as managing editor for various online publications since 2013, jakartabeat.net and jurnalruang.com. Currently, she is actively managing the literary criticism site tengara.id under Jakarta Arts Council as managing editor.
Her work, Surat Panjang tentang Jarak Kita yang Jutaan Tahun Cahaya (A Long Letter of Our Million Light-Years Distance) was published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2013 after winning the 2012 Jakarta Art Council Novel Contest, which later short-listed as the 2013 Khatulistiwa Literary Award. In 2016, A Copy of My Mind, a film-to-novel adaptation, published by Grasindo. Still at the same publisher, in 2017, her first collection of short stories, Elegi (The Elegy), was published. Her writings have been published in various respected outlets, in pindai.org, asymptotejournal.com, Koran Tempo, Jawa Pos, Media Indonesia, Bali Post, jakartabeat.net, indoprogress.com, and Jurnal Perempuan.
